preparing the way

preparing the way

There’s been a bit of radio silence here, as I decided to take a bit of a break from the internet for a moment. After the the hectic kickstarter campaign I needed to go on a social media fast, while I caught up on a few things.

Clearing The Runway

It’s been an extremely busy couple of months. I had some previous work commitments that I had to catch up on, projects that had been pushed back by the kickstarter campaign, and now with those out of the way I’ve got a clean slate to focus our animation. It’s a good feeling!

Researching Myths & History

Meanwhile, as part of her artistic process Ellen has been busy digging into some historical research of the time period, and looking at the origins of the original myth that inspired Neil’s poem. Ellen collated her notes and sketches into a short pdf comic, which she has generously offered to share with our backers. It’s a good insight into how detailed her artistic methods are!

If you backed our project, then head over the kickstarter page and download the exclusive pdf of Ellen’s historical research comic:

Growing The Team

I’ve been busy getting the groundwork laid for the long animation hours ahead, looking at studio spaces, working on designs for our multi-plane animation table, researching camera tech and lenses, etc… but the most crucial task at this point is finding the new members of our team. Thanks to the exuberant support of our backers, we reached our stretch goal and have the budget to bring on an additional animator or two. In fact, if you know of anyone who might be interested, tell them to get in touch! There will be an update shortly with more details regarding the skills we’re looking for, so stay tuned…
